description

So Good!!

ingredients

Contadina sauce, oregano, parsley, Italian seasoning, onions, sweet peppers, ground pork, ground beef, sugar, salt, pepper, ziti pasta, mozzarella cheese, thyme, bay leaves,

directions

In a large pot combine 2 large cans of pasta sauce (preferably Contadina), all seasonings (I eyeball the amount so no real measurements) including four whole bay leaves and bring to a light boil, then lower heat to a simmer. In a pan sauté onions and sweet peppers until soft and add into heated sauce. cook ground pork/turkey/beef (I use steak quality beef and pork sausage together but you can use any two.) when cooked ad to sauce. MY boyfriend likes to add pepperoni and sliced sausages at this point but that's optional. ad sugar to taste because it cuts the acid in the tomato sauce. Let simmer for about 30 minutes (but the longer it simmers the more the flavors mix)mixing frequently. Cook two boxes of Ziti noodles, not al dente style. in a large foil baking sheet layer sauce noodles, sauce noodles (ex ex) until full. Bake for 30 min at 375. in last 10 minutes ad thick layer of cheese on top.

I should warn you this recipe usually feeds a large fat Italian family. lol
