                        ingredients
                        
- 2 Tbsp butter
 
- 1 large onion, chopped
 
- 1/2 c water
 
- 1 large head cabbage, cut into wedges
 
- 4-6 red potatoes, cut into cubes
 
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
 
- 1 tsp salt
 
- 1/2 tsp pepper
 
                     
                    
                        directions
                        
- Melt butter in Dutch oven; add onions and saute until tender.
 
- Pour 1/2 cup water into the pot.
 
- Add sausage slices and potato cubes.
 
- Then add cabbage wedges.
 
- Add salt & pepper.
 
- Cover and steam for 30 min. or until tender.
 
- Stir occasionally.
 
- Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup water if needed to keep from burning.
